Damn you Erin Fetherston! Ps. I love you!

Here we go again. I think I'm going to cut bangs.... Again. Ever since my childhood I've had bangs on and off again. I love to have bangs, but I get bored with them after a while. And then it takes FOREVER to grow them back. At least it feels like forever.... But I think I'm going to go cut bangs right now. Erin Fetherston I blame you!

But you gotta love Erin. Like this dress. I want it!!! And the tassel necklaces. Mmmmm....

Or this one, I want that too!!

And this!

And this!

And this!
Ps. Erin Fetherston I love you!

More Alice in Wonderland!

If you want some more inspiration from Alice in Wonderland, check out these amazing Vogue photos from US Vogue december 2003. Shot by the marvelous Annie Leibovitz featuring Natalia Vodianova and also some of the biggest designers. Haven't you always wanted to see Marc Jacobs as the caterpillar or John Galliano as the Queen of Hearts?

More Disney Couture!

Disney couture, a grown-up way to show your childish love for all things Disney. They hired Kidada Jones to design for them, a smart move. In 2005 she designed jewellry inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Jones friends Nicole Richie and Lindsey Lohan were spotted wearing pieces from the collection, that probably helped sales. But really, I think the pieces sell themselves.

The wrap bracelets are bestsellers and now come in a lot of different themes. I really like the look, and fairy tales are SO in this year. Why were they ever out?!

They ARE called Couture for a reason though and as a fashionista on a budget,
I cannot always get what I want.

But I could get this. This Tinkerbell themed knock-off cost me 35 sek, around $ 5 at swedish KappAhl. Compare to around 1500 sek, just over $ 200 for the real thing.

RIP Alexander McQueen!

The world has lost an amazing talent. A designer with one foot in the past and one in the future. His designs were always fresh and dramatic. I guess he must have felt he didn't have a reason to live, but I bet thousands of women (and men) around the world would beg to differ.
RIP Lee

My spring wardrobe staples (some of them at least!)

I have a feeling this is going to be a staple in my spring wardrobe. This is one of my many thrift store finds. It is a Strenesse camel hair blazer, I guess it was produced sometimes in the nineties from the look of it.  I like to roll up the sleeves and wear it with skinny jeans and high heels. Hardly used it was a real catch at only $10 or 75 sek.

And here are my babies! Well, my shoe babies anyway... Bought them this summer at DSW. They're leather JS by Jessica Simpson. And they ARE comfy! While I was trying them on, totally enamored, my husband asked me: "Will you be able to walk in those?" Stupefied I looked at him thinking: "What does that have to do with anything?" I must say, when it comes to shoes I'm stupid enough to buy shoes that might keep me seated all through the party. Once at a wedding I wore a pair of beautiful vintage fifties pumps, they were SO uncomfortable! I wore them at the wedding ceremony, but even I was wise enough to bring flats for the party. Only, by the time I gave in to the flats, my feet were so swollen I had to have a male friend help me put my shoes on. I like to think I looked like Cinderella when he aided me but honestly, with my swollen feet and face twisted from the pain I probably looked like one of the stepsisters....

And one GREAT birthday present! Thanks grandad! Well, he paid and I chose.... These leather riding boots come from swedish page La Redoute . They are versatile, you can dress them up or down.

And one GREAT christmas gift! These are Disney Couture goldplated earrings. I am an avid Disney fan and on the leaves it says "Believe" on one side and "xoxo Tink" on the other. Best believe in fairies!!! I am becoming quite the earring collector. My husband has been giving me some nice ones.

He has given me a lot of beautiful jewellry through the years. My absolute favorites are my wedding band, my engagement ring, a gold anklet he gave me the morning after our wedding and these Judith Ripka earrings he gave me this summer on our fifth wedding anniversary. I LOVE Judith Ripka! These are silver earrings with amethyst. They will be dangling a lot from my earlobes this spring!

Geek à la Dolce and Gabbana!

I want these!!!

Dolce and Gabbana 1174 501. I spotted the ad in british ELLE and I WANT them! I am currently wearing thin silverframes from Gucci. I still like them, but they are really starting to look worn. These D and G remind me of fifties glasses. I have always liked the cat eye look.

Like these! They belonged to my grandfather's aunt. She was a stylish woman living in a small village in a rural area just like me! She wore hats, gloves and brooches. These frames are designed by Sigvard Bernadotte, a swedish designer that also happened to be prince of Sweden. He is one of Sweden's really iconic designers. Among others he designed for Georg Jensen.

The frames above are designed for Skaga. Recently Skaga came by some old designs by Bernadotte never put into production. This january 2010 they released the "new" Bernadotte collection.

Grammy Awards going Gaga!!!

Wow, Lady Gaga is REALLY becoming a lady to talk about. I confess, in the beginning I thought that she was just generally strange and trying to be artistic. But if you don´t see her grandness by know,
well then YOU might be a bit strange....

She was by far most stylish on the Grammys red carpet wearing Armani Privé. You just have to admire a woman who can wear a whole silvery universe around her, balancing on an area smaller than a dollar bill and looking totally effortless and glam. The Philip Treacy hat she donned later, she wears it in the same fearless way his biggest fan Isabella Blow always did. And to hold a old fashioned tea cup in her hand while watching the awards, that is a way more stylish way to exhibit one's drinking habits than Kanye West's bottle of Hennessy...

If style ruled the world, the Lady would be a queen!
